Eighty-three percent of women over the age of 25 who plan to have children are postponing starting a family to focus on their careers, compared to 79% of men, found a recent CareerBuilder survey. Wanting to earn and save enough money to provide for their family was the top reason given by both women and men who plan to have children (50% and 53%, respectively), followed by the desire to become more established and get ahead in their career (28% and 33%, respectively).

California the Toughest State for First-Time Home Buyers

California is the toughest state for first-time home buyers, according to a new Bankrate.com report. Hawaii and New York round out the three most difficult states to buy your first home. The data study evaluated all 50 U.S. states based on several factors pertaining to young adults, including home affordability relative to median income; credit availability; unemployment; market tightness; and home-ownership percentage among under-35 households.
