On April 17, Time revealed the 2019 Time 100, its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Here Are America’s Most Trusted Consumer Brands for 2019

Market research firm BrandSpark International announced on April 18 the 2019 winners of the BrandSpark Most Trusted Awards (BMTA). The winners are the result of a nationwide survey of consumer trust in the U.S., compiling opinions and insight from more than 12,800 Americans. Voters provided 61,000 top-of-mind opinions to identify which brands Americans trust most in 118 categories in which consumers are regularly faced with purchase decisions, including 75 newly measured ones. Now in its sixth year, the research-based awards program determines winners exclusively by the unaided responses of shoppers.

Rich States Attract Residents, Poor States Make Them Leave

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) recently released Rich States, Poor States 2019 – its newest publication in an annual series illustrating each states’ competitiveness. The 12th edition of Rich States, Poor States examines the latest trends in state economic growth. The data ranks the 2019 economic outlook of states using 15 equally weighted policy variables, including various tax rates, regulatory burdens, and labor policies. The twelfth edition examines trends that have helped or hurt states’ economies.

Global Consumer Confidence Drops Slightly, but Remains at Historically High Levels

The Conference Board Global Consumer Confidence Index declined slightly in the first quarter of 2019 to 106, down one point from 107 in the fourth quarter of 2018, but still at historically high levels since the inception of the index in 2005. Consumers are likely to sustain spending, but more cautiously, amid a slowing global economy.

ADP Research Institute Releases 2019 State of the Workforce Report: Pay, Promotions and Retention, Providing Unprecedented View of the Organization of U.S. Firms

The ADP Research Institute released on April 16 the 2019 State of the Workforce Report: Pay, Promotions and Retention. The study provides comprehensive, data-driven organizational benchmarks derived from the aggregated and anonymized actual HR and payroll data of U.S. workers. The inaugural report shares pay, promotion, and hierarchy insights, inclusive of all industries and firm sizes of at least 50 employees. The results are further examined by age, gender, firm size, and tenure.
