Cirque du Soleil Finds New Strategic Majority Partner in TPG-Led Investor Group

Cirque du Soleil announced on April 20 an agreement under which TPG, a global private investment firm, will acquire a majority stake in Cirque du Soleil to fuel growth and take Cirque’s iconic blue and yellow big top to exciting new markets.

Cirque du Soleil’s founder, Guy Laliberté, will maintain a stake in the business and will continue to provide strategic and creative input to the company. Blue Bell Creameries Voluntarily Expands Recall to Include All of Its Products Due to Possible Health Risk

Blue Bell Ice Cream of Brenham, Texas, said it is voluntarily recalling all of its products currently on the market made at all of its facilities including ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet and frozen snacks. These products have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. See the full release to learn more about the recall.

In an exclusive feature, the May issue of AARP Bulletin uses the Livability Index to identify the most livable places in the country to live for people 50-plus.  See the full release to see the complete list of most livable neighborhoods in the country.

Conde Nast Traveler Announces The 2015 Hot List: The World’s Best New Hotels

On April 20, the editors of Conde Nast Traveler announced the definitive guide to the best new hotels and resorts in the world, the 2015 Hot List. A select 60 properties made the 2015 Hot List, after being vetted by editors and contributors who visited hundreds of recently opened properties around the world, from West Africa to Miami.

This year, an invisible and seemingly effortless attention to detail was appreciated more than over-the-top gestures. Conde Nast Traveler Editor-in-Chief Pilar Guzman said, “The standout properties were those that understood the intuitive needs of the modern traveler. The sweet spot for a Hot List hotel is a combination of old-school extravagance and service with just the right measure of modernity.” See the full release to learn which hotels made the list.
