May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. And with Mother’s Day coming up, I thought it’d be the perfect time to recognize a few outstanding Asian Pacific American mom bloggers.

Check them out for stories on parenting, education, cooking, lifestyle, and more.

1. I’m Not the Nanny

This blog is managed by Thien-Kim, a D.C.-area mom “raising biracial kids in a race conscious world.”

What began as a site for her to share the joys and challenges of raising mixed-race children (Vietnamese American and African American) has transformed to also include recipes, multicultural resources and more.

I enjoyed reading 13 Best Lunar New Year Books to Read as a Family; Vietnamese Beef Stew (Bò Kho) Recipe #SundaySupper; and 19 Cinderella Stories From Around The World.

2. Mommy Diary

Blogger Angela Kim is a former writing professor who discovered her love of blogging when she became a stay-at-home mom and was in need of a creative outlet.

The mother of four says, “If you’re looking for another seasoned mom who understands and validates your complex feelings in motherhood or if you’re simply looking for a mommy friend, you found the right girl.”

The motherhood section of the blog covers a range of topics, including baby, postpartum, pregnancy and special needs. Additional sections cover lifestyle and travel.

Family Survival Guide During Coronavirus Social Distancing; DIY Newborn Photography; and My Konmari Tidying Up Journey: The Closet are good reads.

3. Tech Savvy Mama

Leticia Barr is a mother of two with experience integrating technology in the classroom. Her blog is full of useful posts covering the best ways to educate with technology.

Since most parents made the switch to homeschooling their children on tablets or other devices at the beginning of the pandemic, I found this blog especially timely.

Barr rounds out the blog with posts on parenting, travel and more.

Here are a few recommended posts: 110+ Elementary STEM Resources for Learning at Home; How to Talk About Digital Wellbeing With Your Teens; and 5 Tips for Managing Screen Time During Coronavirus.

4. Dirt & Noise

Dirt & Noise is written by Ilina Ewen, “a progressive left leaning woman who has a soft spot for kids and animals (but not snakes) and impossibly high standards.” She was named one of the top working mom bloggers by Working Mother in 2019.

In addition to blogging, Ewen also is a public speaker and marketing consultant. The “accidental activist” and member of Team Oxford Comma says, “I love a tidy house, ’80s music, and dresses with pockets. I always have a secret stash of chocolate and gummy bears (don’t tell my kids).”
