Wedding Blogs We Love

Welcome to Blog Profiles! Each week, PR Newswire media relations manager Christine Cube selects an industry or subject and a handful of sites that do a good job with promoting and blogging about the space. Do you have a blog that deserves recognition? Tell Christine why on PR Newswire for Bloggers.

It’s back-to-school time, but September also makes me think of weddings.

Two of my siblings married in September, and I always imagined that I might follow suit. While it didn’t exactly happen that way, I do love the magic that comes with fall celebrations.

Style Me Pretty is a “style savvy wedding resource devoted to the modern bride.”

“We cover everything from gorgeous real weddings to up and coming vendors and seasoned pros in the invitation, floral, fashion and photography industries,” the site says. “We feature only the most chic and style centric wedding related content, continually discovering new and brilliantly talented vendors, brides with an eye for all things gorgeous, and the personal loves of editor, Abby Larson.”

This truly is a massive and stunning site.

I’ll start with the wedding of an old friend that recently was featured on Style Me Pretty — Colorado Springs Summer Camp Wedding – features the gorgeous nuptials of Julia Tobey, and her husband, Heath Hyche. (Congrats to you guys!)

I also really enjoyed Classic-Glam West Hollywood Wedding and Watercolor Wedding Inspiration Shoot.

Green Wedding Shoes loves sharing weddings and believes there’s no “right” way to throw a wedding celebration. The duo behind this awesome site is SoCal couple Jen and Jason Campbell.

“Whether you’re dreaming of an intimate wedding on a farm, a weekend camping adventure or a handmade wedding in a loft, we love them all,” the blog says. “I love showing couples how their wedding can be all about them and that it’s ok to break traditions to make the day their own.”

The site features real weddings, galleries, inspiration, DIY ideas (décor, fashion & accessories, favors & gifts, flowers, and food & drink), and honeymoons.

Some of my favorite posts include Spiritual Sedona Elopement: Delia & Jamie, and How to Shop the LA Flower Market (which, I did personally for my own wedding a few years ago. It’s a magnificent place, if you’re doing your own flowers).

Rock n Roll Bride features “killer style, crazy love” and alternative wedding inspiration.

The site was born as Reading, UK couple Kat and Gareth Williams were planning their 2007 wedding. Kat said she realized she loved blogging and writing about weddings and “had no plans to slow down.”

“I morphed it from my own wedding planning blog to a place to collate and share the kind of weddings I loved but didn’t see properly represented in the mainstream wedding media,” she said. “I love any wedding that is as unique as the couple that planned it.”

I especially enjoyed Bright and Colourful Victorian Railway Station Wedding: Ben & Vicky (and the list of supporting cast at the end! Fantastic) and Skulls and Tattoos on Friday 13th: Nic & Dan (love love the little bottles of “poison” that the bride filled with a “mixture of cherry sours, black vodka and raspberry mickey finns.”)

100 Layer Cake is the creative collaboration between friends and designers Jillian Clark, Amanda Dawbarn, and Kristina Meltzer. The newest addition to their brand is their family blog, 100 Layer Cakelet.

The wedding blog was launched in 2009 to “celebrate, inspire, and facilitate the most special events in life – weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, engagements – all the things that make your heart fill with love.”

This site is filled with cool stuff.

Love me some of the outdoor entertaining ideas by Eye Swoon (the pictures!). I also really loved this Vintage shoot by SimplyBloom Photography.

Now, I’d be remiss if I left out the groom on his wedding day. So I discovered GroomsAdvice, the groom’s wedding blog from TheManRegistry.com.

I like the story behind TheManRegistry.com. It was created by two brothers and their future brother-in-law in 2007.

“They noticed that many of their close friends and family were getting married, but too often were registered for wedding gifts that were strictly geared toward the kitchen and bedroom,” the site says. “Where were the wedding gifts that the groom could get excited about? It was clear that creating a wedding registry tailored to grooms was necessary.”

Today, the site features a gift registry with hundreds of gifts tailored toward grooms, including electronics, barbecue grills and accessories, bar supplies, tools and outdoors gear, and items from favorite sports teams. It also features wedding tips and advice.

Some of my favorite posts include Photoshop Takes Groomsmen Shots from Typical to Epic and 6 Creative Ways to Ask Your Main Men to be Your Groomsmen.
