I’m going to Hawaii. #sorrynotsorry

Actually, the reason I’m going there is a much larger discussion; it’s a long distance learning program. That’s for another day.

So while I prepare for this trip, completing my studies and packing my snorkel, I found myself thinking about travel, in general.

It’s been a while since I last covered great travel blogs.

Lonely Planet blog covers the globe in all things travel.

You’ve heard of Lonely Planet. It’s a top travel publisher, printing more than 120 million books in 11 languages. The company itself has offices in Australia, UK, US, India and China.

“At Lonely Planet we tell it like it is, without fear or favour,” the site says. “There’s a whole world of amazing sights, hotels, travel companies and gear manufacturers out there – and we want to tell you which ones we think are best.”

Some posts that had me swooning include Pathfinders Pics: On The Wine Trail In Mendoza, Argentina, LP Pathfinders: Top Instagrams From May 2016, and Storify: On The Road in Nicaragua. Also good reading: AccessFest: Getting More People With a Disability to More Festivals More Often.

Nomadic Matt aims to help others “travel more while spending less.”

Matt Kepnes is the author of the New York Times best-selling book, How to Travel the World on $50 a Day.

“I’ve been traveling the world since 2006 and created this website to help others travel more while spending less,” Kepnes says, on his site.

I super enjoyed the writing on Nomadic Matt. Some posts that caught my eye include How Gay Travel is Different (And Why It Matters), 18 Of The Best Spots In Patagonia, and How To (Legally) Stay in Europe For More Than 90 Days.

I Luv 2 Globe Trot features travel reviews, community news, and interviews.

The site is managed by Renee Evans and Nicole Brewer.

According to the blog, Evans and Brewer met as English as Second Language teachers in South Korea in 2010.

“As expats living in Korea they have taken numerous vacations together and quickly learned that they shared a common passion: travel,” the blog says. “They both came to the conclusion that this passion needed to be fulfilled and shared with others. Thus, I luv 2 globe trot came to fruition in 2012.”

I enjoyed several posts. They include 5 Things to do in Chicago This Summer, Yediburunlar Lighthouse Hotel in Fethiye Review, and The 5 Best Boutique Hotels for Spa Lovers.

Don’t Forget to Move covers adventure travel and responsible tourism.

The digital nomads behind Don’t Forget to Move are Julian Hatfield and Christine Williams. They’re travel bloggers, adventure seekers, international volunteers, responsible tourism advocates, and vegetarians.

What a cool blog. It really gets you thinking.

Notable posts include 6 Ways Volunteering Overseas Will Change Your Life, 30 Trips To Do Before You Are 30, and Day Trip To Napa Valley California: Wine, Food and Scenic Delights.
