Number of Workers Reporting Office Romances at a 10-Year High, Finds Annual CareerBuilder Valentine’s Day Survey

Romantic relationships amongst coworkers may be more common than you think—and the numbers may be on the rise. According to CareerBuilder’s annual Valentine’s Day survey, 41 percent of workers have dated a coworker (up from 37 percent last year and the highest since 2007). Here Are the States Where Teachers Make the Most (and Least) Amount of Money

Teachers in states like Alaska and New York are being paid on average almost double the salaries of their peers in Mississippi and Oklahoma, according to a study just released by GOBankingRates. The study utilized the Bureau of Labor Statistics latest data, compiling average elementary, middle, and high school teacher salaries by state.”While no one enters the teaching industry for the money, our study findings reveal some rather large income discrepancies depending on where in the country teachers live,” said Kristen Bonner, lead researcher on the study. LG Electronics Breaks Ground For North American Headquarters

LG Electronics on Feb. 7 broke ground for its much-anticipated LG North American Headquarters campus in New Jersey. The start of construction for the 350,000-square-foot, sustainably-designed building in Englewood Cliffs marks a major milestone for the $300 million project, which has been in the works since 2009. The new corporate campus at 111 Sylvan Ave. will allow LG to double its local employment to more than 1,000 by 2019, while creating more than 2,000 much-needed New Jersey construction jobs in the shorter term. The initiative, “IBM Digital – Nation Africa,” provides a cloud-based learning platform designed to provide free skills development programs for up to 25 million African youths over five years, enabling digital competence and nurturing innovation in Africa. This is part of IBM’s global push to build the next generation of skills needed for “New Collar” careers. “New Collar” is a term used by IBM to describe new kinds of careers that do not always require a four-year college degree but rather sought-after skills in cybersecurity, data science, artificial intelligence, cloud, and much more.
