Growing up, my mom never had a sense of humor (and still doesn’t, really). I don’t think I really had one either — that is until my dad introduced me to Monty Python when I was nine or 10 (shout out to PBS daytime television).
My mom noticed that I enjoyed the Pythons and took me to see Spamalot when I was 13. After every punchline, my mom would sit in silence for a couple of minutes while the audience laughed, after which she would start laughing.
It added to the overall humor of the play.
With April Fools’ Day around the corner, I thought I’d look into some comedy blogs.
1. Awkward Family Photos
This blog has become so popular that it started selling calendars and adult coloring books. And for good reason, too. The collection of photos here are so lighthearted and funny that it’s hard not to love each and every one on this site.
While the site is mostly comprised of hilariously awkward photos, they do have articles talking about the different collections.
Also, as a side note, some of these photos may not be kid-friendly, so approach with caution.

2. Cake Wrecks
I see these cakes in my nightmares each night.
They’re all train wrecks. Like the Awkward Family Photos blog, Cake Wrecks creator Jen Yates has released two books collecting images of horrible cakes (that really should have never graced this world with their presence).

3. Garfield Minus Garfield
This is one of my favorite blogs of all time.
Nothing makes Jon Arbuckle’s Garfield funnier than the absolute absence of Garfield (or the punchline, in general). The blog itself hasn’t been updated in a while, but creator Dan Walsh still occasionally updates the Garfield Minus Garfield Twitter feed. So, I’m sure there’s more to come.
This blog also has a book, because it’s too funny.

4. Jerry Corley’s Comedy Clinic
This isn’t a humorous blog.
It’s similar to Cracked, where it’s more of a format for sharing news and dissecting comedy, rather than a feed of horrible cakes or terrifying family photos. I included it, though, because I think it constitutes as a comedy blog. It delivers comedy news and helps those who may want to try their hand at stand-up.
