Blog Profiles: Summer Camp Blogs
Welcome to Blog Profiles! Each week, we select a topic and handful of blogs that do a great job contributing to the conversation. School’s out, so we’re dedicating this week’s list to summer camp blogs. Do you have a blog that deserves recognition? Tweet our writers at @BeyondBylines.
Now that school is concluding, many kids are prepping for the summer.
For a lot of families, this includes camp.
I never grew up with camp, but now that I’ve got a little one, I’m thinking more and more about fun options for him to engage with other children and be a part of something bigger than himself.
So, I dove into summer camp blogs. Here’s what I found.
1. Let’s Talk Camp Blog
Active Network, Camps, (formerly CampRegister), powers up more than 2,500 camps and programs with camp management software and online camp registration software.
It also features a blog called Let’s Talk Camp.
Some posts that I found interesting here include Packing for Summer Camp: Don’t Let Campers Forget These Essential Items, How to Identify the Warning Signs of Bullying, and Is Your Camp Summer-Ready? Get the Checklist!
Follow @LetsTalkCamp on Twitter.
2. Go Camp Pro
Go Camp Pro allows folks to “stay in the loop and become part of our camp pro family. We’re dedicated to re-defining what continuing education in summer camping means, and would love you to be part of a community that will change camping forever.”
The site is managed by Travis Allison, podcaster and marketing consultant with CampHacker. According to its Facebook page, CampHacker exists to “create great camp communities so that camps are inspired to change the world.”
Go Camp Pro posts that caught my eye include The 7 Life Skills You Learn at Camp – An Adult’s Perspective and Pre-Summer Camp Staff Engagement.
Follow @Camphacker on Twitter.
3. Sleepaway Camp Blog
Sleepaway Camp Blog features tips on trips and camps, providing expertise on overnight camps and trips for children age 7 through 18+.
I liked so much on this site. If you’re looking for camp fairs, blog articles, video, and testimonials – it’s got a little bit of everything.
You have to read Forget the Camp Care Packages. Get Creative, Go With a Friend or Go Alone?, and Camp Packing List: T-Shirts, Shorts, Bug Spray, and Books!
Follow @tipsontripsandcamps on Instagram.
4. Camp Connection
The American Camp Association aims to enrich “lives through the camp experience.”
It features a blog called Camp Connection.
But this is a big site. It features information for staff and professionals (namely, a resource library as well as info about events, professional development, accreditation, and standards) and resources for campers and families. (Looking for a camp? No problem. Planning for one? Cool.)
Some good posts to check out here include Planetary Events for Camp Programs, Why Camp Culture is Important to Staff Training, and Emotional Readiness for Camp.
Follow @ACAcamps on Twitter.

Nodoubt, Summer camp blogs are the perfect mix of nostalgia and chaos—campfire stories, messy crafts, and those unforgettable firsts. Reading them feels like reliving the best parts of childhood, minus the bug bites.
I don’t even know how I got here, but I thought this post used to be good.
This is such a cool idea to highlight summer camp blogs! As a parent, I’m always looking for fun and engaging activities for my kids during the summer. The mention of Active Network, Camps caught my attention—sounds like a great resource for finding the right camp. Thanks for the helpful roundup!
It’s great to see how many summer camp blogs inspire families to explore new adventures, and it reminds me how powerful immersive experiences can be—whether for kids or adults. In Tanzania, the Mawe Lodges safari collection offers a similar sense of growth and discovery, but in the heart of the wild. With small, eco-friendly camps spread across the Serengeti, Tarangire, and Ngorongoro, Mawe Lodges gives families and travelers a chance to connect with nature, learn from expert local guides, and experience something bigger than themselves. Just like the camps featured in your post, these safari lodges show how meaningful the right environment can be for creating lasting memories.
Thanks for sharing!
I didn’t grow up going to camp either, but once I sent my niece, I realized how special it is for kids to explore, connect, and grow outside screens. The Go Camp Pro posts are great for parents like me who love learning from real experiences. I even planned our first family road trip to a lakeside camp (after checking kayak for travel tips). Honestly, summer camp feels like a break for both kids and adults.

Ah, the classic “I didn’t do this as a kid, so now I must live vicariously through my child” parenting maneuver. This list is basically a summer camp starter pack for overthinking parents. Forget bug spray; the real essential item is a blog post about the emotional readiness for your 7-year-old to be away from home. Ah, the classic “I didn’t do this as a kid, so now I must live vicariously through my child” parental research deep dive.
