EmpoweringWomen

I love hearing stories about female empowerment.

For example, twenty-three-year-old Yanise Ho, “The Bladress” and “lady Forrest Gump,” worked with One Girl Can and rollerbladed across the U.S. to raise money and awareness for The Bladress Scholarship: Funds to Educate Girls.

Read on to learn more about inspiring organizations that are making the future a brighter place for girls and women.

1. One Girl Can

One Girl Can’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty and gender inequality in Kenya and Uganda. It supports a girl from the time she leaves primary school until the time she finds meaningful employment.

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop, Ushirika Dorm Ground Breaking, and The Strength and Resilience of One Girl all are great posts.

3. Girls on the Run International

GOTR inspires girls to be confident and healthy while integrating running.

4. Strong Women, Strong Girls

The girls who take part in the SWSG mentorship program are introduced to strong female role models. The mission is “to empower girls to imagine a broader future through a curriculum grounded on female role models.”

I enjoyed reading Summer through the Lens of an SWSG Pittsburgh Program Coordinator: Meet Raenelle Lowery, 14-year-old Kayla hosts Birthday-Fundraiser for SWSG!, and College Mentor Finds Her Place in SWSG.
